Into the Field: A TLA Partner Extends Her Reach

Into the Field: A TLA Partner Extends Her Reach

At The Learning Accelerator, we use the word “catalyze” to describe our work. We act as an agent to spark change – identifying opportunities and challenges, sharing resources and approaches, and promoting and creating space for collaboration. We’ve launched initiatives and organizations, and helped connect different partners to accelerate the pace of change.

Today, I’m delighted to share another way TLA is catalyzing change, which is in supporting our team as they go out into the world to act as external agents more broadly for our mission, transforming education through blended and personalized learning.

Lisa Duty, our colleague and partner who has led TLA’s strategy and practice at the state level since our founding, is stepping out on her own to launch a new consulting organization, Innovation Partners. Through this new organization, she will engage with agencies, nonprofits, foundations, and other education groups to develop strategies to innovate and design systems that reach critical outcomes for students. We are inspired by her vision and excited to see her build upon the excellent work she’s done with TLA to deepen impact to create personalization, data use, and mastery-based progression for kids everywhere.

For TLA, this next step for Lisa is part of our bigger plan for seeding change and innovation more broadly, extending our reach through networks and peers.

Innovation Partners and TLA will be synthesizing and sharing our learnings about the strategies we’ve seen states put to work in their efforts to support and implement systemic change. We’ll be releasing this work in October, at a panel at iNACOL’s Annual Symposium, The State As Accelerant of High Quality Blended Learning. I hope you’ll join us. In the meantime, join me in wishing Lisa the best of luck in this next stage – for her and for schools everywhere.

Innovation Partners will seek to enable organizations to create new outcomes through collaboration and the incubation of new ideas.
