There’s a lot of buzz about “blended learning” and its growing impact on the way students learn in the classroom. But what is it really?
To help answer this question, three education experts have teamed up to offer a blended learning MOOC—a massive open online course—that explores the different types of blended learning models as well as key issues that impact students, teachers, and schools. Specifically, the instructors will examine these issues through the lens of three high-performing schools that each implements a different model of blended learning. The class culminates in students putting what they learned into action by implementing some form of blended learning in their context.
Brian Greenberg of Silicon Schools Fund, Michael Horn of the Clayton Christensen Institute, and Robert Schwartz of the New Teacher Center will teach the course. The course is free and open to anyone, anywhere. The 6-week session begins October 15, 2013. Register online at: www.coursera.org/course/blendedlearning.
